Our Goal

Our goal is to create a game that educates the public about the new regulations the government is imposing. With the rise of COVID-19 cases, the government started implementing rules to help regulate the spread. For example, masks became mandatory to wear while being out in the public.

Gameplay

Project Stay Home lets the player take over the role of a police officer. With the newly implemented COVID-19 measurements taking place, it is the player's job to enforce these new rules.

The player walks around in a public setting and interacts with NPCs (non-playable characters). They are encouraged to engage in conversations with the NPCs, giving them more information that allows them to deduce whether if the NPC is breaking the rules or not.

Each level contains a time limit and the player must arrest the NPCs breaking the rules without wrongly arresting the innocent NPCs. They are rewarded with points for every correct arrests, however the player can only make 3 wrong arrests before failing the level.

Learning through repetition

Our goal for Project Stay Home is to educate the player about the new rules of the newly implemented COVID-19 measurements. The way we tackled this was by having a tablet for the player to use. This tablet contains information such as people who are under Stay Home Notice (SHN) and the rules they need to regulate.

Since the players have to learn the rules to know who to arrest, they will repeatedly go to the tablet to learn the rules for them to play the game. When they refer to the tablet multiple times, not only do they learn how to play the game, but also educate themselves about the newly implemented COVID-19 measurements that were taking place in real life.
